One of the greatest highlights of the Congress Avenue Mile is the invitation High School male and female heats.  These heats involve both the racing of individual competitors and also race against regions (North, South, East and West).  The best milers in the State of Texas are invited to participate on a team and provided with a team uniform and a trip to Austin to race.
